THE BIG QUESTION

Last month, we asked:

Could interactive computer games hold the key to lowering childhood obesity?

75% said yes!

This month, we’re asking:

Should the Government push ahead with its desire for a more ‘patient centred’ health service?

Earlier this year the new Health Secretary promised to end the NHS target regime to refocus on a “people-centred” service that empowers patients.

Andy Burnham believes the current structure places exceptional strains on the service and feels we now have a chance to move away from ‘numbers and systems’ to concentrate on what he called "patient outcomes".

THE BIG QUESTION

Mr Burnham said that targets should be kept where they are important and where they’re about ‘end-to-end service standards’ ... otherwise he believes they should be swept away, adding that he’d would rather invest in things like swimming and other activities to promote healthier living.

ICE PICKS a round up of Project News

ICE rallies behind charity drive

ICE is proud to be on board with a mother and daughter team from Wirral who are raising money for local charities by tackling the treacherous Mongolian Rally.

As a company that thrives on getting out of its own comfort zone to help people, ICE can relate to the huge challenge the pair have set themselves and see it as the ideal cause to support.

Davina Madden, and daughter Savanna, 21, both from Birkenhead, have given up 6 weeks of their own time to support Wirral Council for Voluntary Service (Wirral CVS) by taking part in The Wirral Challenge.

The pair set off in July to cross the most hostile landscape on earth with just themselves, a car – and no back up along the way. What makes their journey even more remarkable is that Davina is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

ICE’s commitment to this challenge has seen it donate time and resources by developing a range of branded materials including advertising for the car, and media releases which were sent to local publications to raise awareness of their challenge and drum up sponsorship support.

ICE wishes them every success with their epic journey and wants to offer Davina all our support with her personal battle.

What's on the 'drawing board'?

The design team has been busy working on a number of exciting projects including; creating a brand for the Deborah Hutton Campaign, designs for the NHS Wirral University Teaching Hospital Foundation's awards ceremony, and also the new ICE brand.

Deborah Hutton

Foundation Awards

To help transform the Deborah Hutton Campaign from a 'vision' to a 'live project' the design team has created a brand logo which best represents the campaigns drive to educate young people on important health issues.

Work is also underway on creating certificates, leaflets, invites for the NHS Wirral University Teaching Hospital Foundation's awards which recognise the great work NHS staff do.

And design is also working on refreshing the ICE logo. The new look is to mark our 10th birthday and to reflect our growth which has seen us move from 3 people in 1999 to 48 today working in three locations across the country.

We'll be keeping our clients up to date with this exciting transition.
