INSIDE ICE

The sky’s
the limit!

We’ve been reawarded Investors in People (IIP) status, after passing our reassessment with flying colours.

The IIP assessor gave us some very positive feedback following her visit; praising the team for its great team spirit, values and social responsibility, openness and honesty, learning and development, and internal communications.

But it doesn’t stop there! She also said we were in a great position to push onto IIP’s new Bronze, Silver and Gold accreditation, for the highest achieving companies nationally.

Investor In People

Tina Jones, our Operations Director, says, “At ICE, development is not just about work; it’s about a ‘whole life’ approach. If we can support our team in everything they do and everything they want to be, then we’re a happy company.

“IIP status is a great reflection of the work we’re doing to develop and harness the skills of all team members. We’re now looking to make even more innovative improvements as we work towards the new gold standard.”

One area highlighted by the IIP assessment was the importance of ICE’s values to our collective success. Click to find out more

MEET THE TEAM

Introducing….
Matty Joyce, Senior Designer

Matthew ‘Matty’ Joyce is a Senior Designer with ICE. He’s worked in design for around eight years and before joining ICE’s creative team last summer, he previously worked as Art Director at another established, award-winning agency.

Matty lives in Hoylake on the Wirral and has recently turned 30. At ICE, he’s responsible for producing concepts and design solutions for a broad client base and has wide-ranging experience in producing promotional print and outdoor campaigns, as well as branding projects.

Working closely with our in-house social marketers, Matty uses a range of creative techniques to visually convey ideas and information - based on an in-depth understanding of colour, typography, photography, layout and media. He also works directly with clients to help ‘get under the skin’ of target audiences and ensure the medium suits the message.

He says, “I enjoy the variety – and of course, the creativity – of my job. It’s great to work on such a vast array of different campaigns and really feel like I’m making a difference to people’s lives - not just advertising the latest ‘must have’ gadget!”

“In recent weeks, I’ve done everything from discussing GP opening hours with a group of doctors in East Lancashire to teaching a class of 11 year olds in Grimsby about careers in graphic design. These aren’t necessarily tasks I would’ve expected to have been doing a few years ago, but for me, interacting directly with clients and their audiences really helps keep the job fresh!”

Outside the workplace, Matty enjoys running (he’s done a couple of half marathons), learning the guitar and getting out and about to music festivals - he’s just returned from the mother of all festivals, Glastonbury!
