DID YOU KNOW…

…ICE’s interactive kiosks are engaging audiences nationwide?

Our mobile kiosks use a range of software including animation, text, quizzes, interactive questionnaires, games, video and audio to educate and entertain on a variety of social issues.

In North Liverpool alone, wireless kiosks are being used in 16 locations including secondary schools and academies – accessing up to 25,000 pupils – to engage this age group about the long-term health and social risks of excessive drinking. Our kiosks can also be found in a variety of strategic community locations such as adult learning centres and doctors’ surgeries, as well as being utilised by the Police, various Fire & Rescue Services and The Environment Agency.

Bob Blanchard, from Breckfield Community centre in Liverpool, says, “This single piece of equipment… has been utilised on a regular basis by local residents and young people alike, it is informative and educating in a nonthreatening way. The screens are easy to follow and access, which is paramount in an area of poor literacy and computer ownership and usage.”

“We provide physical and software support and kiosk location management, on both a strategic level and in an operational sense, remotely providing live feedback,” says ICE’s Les Jackson, who oversees the kiosks.

“Both our clients and our technicians can monitor the kiosks’ usage and provide even greater feedback and insight to inform future activities. The software content can be managed remotely by clients, allowing them to change sections and add images or even video. We also implement bluetooth technologies!”

ICE PICKS a round up of project news

ICE goes global with New Zealand Fire Service

An interactive DVD and teaching package we developed in partnership with Safer South Gloucestershire is to be used by the New Zealand Fire Service.

ICE’s digital media specialists produced the DVD to help engage and educate 11-15 year olds about the damaging effects of criminal damage. It incorporates different scenarios – such as arson and graffiti – to ‘bring to life’ the negative physical and emotional effects on local communities.

These groundbreaking resources, which have already been made available to Community Partnerships nationwide, are now going global!

ICE co-ordinated all aspects of multimedia and film work, from scripting and sourcing actors to filming, post-production and editing. We also created a full brand identity which was used on downloadable teaching notes and posters, a promotional trailer and a supportive PR campaign.

New contract for Alcohol Intervention project in Brighton & Hove

ICE is set to deliver a year-long campaign to help reduce harmful drinking levels, after winning a new contract with Brighton & Hove PCT.

Building on the Government’s ‘Know Your Limits’ campaign, and targeted mainly at young people, we’ll be using a social marketing approach to plan, design, run and evaluate the project. The ultimate aim is to reduce alcohol misuse in the city over a 12 month period.

This latest contract will build on work we’re already doing in the South East to support positive behaviour change, including social marketing campaigns with NHS West Kent, Swale Borough Council and Dartford Borough Council.

Our Business Development Director for the South East, Suzanne Goldenberg, will be leading the Brighton project along with Senior Social Marketing Practitioner, Hannah Wallington.

Suzanne says, “ICE’s reputation for high level creativity and delivery is continuing to grow, and we’re looking forward to working on another long-term project that will make a sustained and long-term difference to local communities.”
