Introducing….
Jay Mannhart,
Community Intervention Worker
As one of ICE’s full-time community alcohol intervention workers, Jay joined us to support ASSIST – an alcohol awareness programme spearheaded by Liverpool Primary Care Trust.
On a day-to-day basis, Jay offers free and non-judgemental information and advice, and provides alcohol screenings in a range of local community venues. He’s working right at the heart of communities with a wide range of partners – including GP surgeries, leisure centres, local gyms, hostels, care homes and pubs/clubs – enabling people’s drinking habits to be assessed as ‘safe’, ‘hazardous’ or ‘harmful’ and highlighting any potential risks to their health.
Originally from Strasbourg in France, Jay lives in Liverpool with his partner and young son. Before joining ICE, he also worked in a support role within the PCT; helping co-ordinate community events, alcohol awareness programme and training.
Jay and the team are not just educating the people of Liverpool, but are positively supporting individuals to change and bring their drinking habits into the ‘safe’ category of alcohol consumption.
